Rock ‘n’ roll up your sleeves for 48th Annual Lone Star 92.5 Summer Blood Drive
2024 DFW-area event with Carter BloodCare offers donors a chance at $1,000 gift card
DALLAS – June 3, 2024 – It’s time to crank up the blood supply with Lone Star 92.5 and Carter BloodCare.
For the 48th year, Dallas-Fort Worth’s classic rock powerhouse is teaming with the Texas-based nonprofit blood center to help local patients in urgent need of transfusions. The 2024 Lone Star 92.5 Summer Blood Drive takes place June 10 – 15 across the DFW area.
One donor will win a $1,000 Visa gift card, courtesy of GiveMeTheVin.com. Donors also receive a limited-edition Lone Star 92.5 T-shirt and will be entered in drawings for tickets to the June 21 Bo & Them Bash in Dallas.
Times and locations are:
- 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday, June 10: Billy Bob’s Texas in the Fort Worth Stockyards
- 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 11: PINSTACK in Las Colinas
- Noon – 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 11: PINSTACK in Allen and Plano
- 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 12: Strike + Reel in Garland
- 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday, June 13: GiveMeTheVin.com in North Richland Hills
- 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. Friday, June 14: Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen
- 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday, June 15: Nebraska Furniture Mart, Scheel’s and Rock & Brews at Grandscape in The Colony
Eligible donors are at least 17 years old – or 16 with parental consent – and weigh at least 110 pounds. There is no upper age limit.
It takes less than an hour to donate. Blood donors help children fighting cancer, mothers going through difficult deliveries, patients with severe trauma or bleeding after vehicle collisions, people treated for sickle cell disease, organ transplant recipients, and older adults with age-related health issues, among many others.
All blood types are needed, and there’s an urgent need for O negative blood. The universal blood type, O negative can be used to help any patient, regardless of their individual blood type. This is vital in emergencies when the patient’s blood type is not immediately known. O negative is also the only blood type used to treat premature and unborn babies.
