Dallas Cowboys host Carter BloodCare blood drive July 6
Public invited to team up to help 1,800 local patients in need of transfusions
ARLINGTON, TEXAS (June 27, 2024) – The Dallas Cowboys will host Carter BloodCare for a community blood drive Saturday, July 6, in Arlington.
The goal is to collect 600 units of donated whole blood, which can help 1,800 local patients in need of transfusions.
The Dallas Cowboys Blood Drive with Carter BloodCare is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 6. It takes place at AT&T Stadium, located at 1 AT&T Way in Arlington.
Attendees will park in Blue Lot 10, on the corner of North Collins Street and Randol Mill Road. Donors can then enter the stadium through Entry K, on the northwest side facing Randol Mill Road.
Also in attendance for photos, from 9 to 11 a.m., will be Dallas Cowboys legend and Pro Football Hall of Fame member Charles Haley. The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will meet and greet fans from noon to 2 p.m., followed by Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Jalen Tolbert from 2 to 4 p.m.
Each donor will receive the following thank-you gifts, while supplies last: a pair of Dallas Cowboys-Carter BloodCare co-branded logo socks, a voucher for a tour of AT&T Stadium, and Carter BloodCare’s “Summer Lifesaver” navy-and-white beach towel.
Blood donors must be 16 years of age or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and feel well on the day of donation. Sixteen-year-olds must have a signed parental consent form. Those 17 and older may donate independently. There is no upper age limit.
All blood types are currently needed, especially O positive and O negative, which are at or near critical levels. Critical status indicates there is less than a day’s supply of the blood type to fulfill hospital needs for their transfusion patients. In some cases, without the required blood, surgeries and medical treatments could be postponed.
Blood donors help children who are fighting cancer, people with life-threatening injuries from vehicle accidents, open-heart surgery patients, mothers going through difficult childbirths, and older adults with age-related health issues, among many others.
