5 tips for a lifesaving resolution in 2025
Carter BloodCare encourages Texans to set a positive habit in the new year
Donating blood in 2025 is a realistic resolution that’s healthy, beneficial and easy to keep.
It takes less than an hour to donate whole blood with Carter BloodCare. That is time well-spent for patients in urgent need across North, Central and East Texas.
Here are Carter BloodCare’s five tips for keeping your resolution to help others in 2025:
- Set a specific goal
Instead of saying “I will donate blood in 2025,” make a measurable goal, such as “I will donate blood three times in 2025.” You can track progress by logging in to your Carter BloodCare donor page. - Ask yourself a truly lifesaving question: “How many lives will I save in 2025?”
One unit of donated whole blood can save three lives. That’s possible when it is separated into three components — red blood cells, platelets and plasma — used to treat specific patient needs. The more consistently you donate, the more people you help. - Picture the people you’re helping
When you donate blood, you help children fighting cancer; people injured in vehicle accidents and mass shooting incidents; mothers having difficult childbirths; organ transplant recipients; people living with sickle cell disease; patients with severe burns; older adults with age-related health issues; and many others. Stay motivated by letting friends and family members provide support. This works both ways: get friends and family to join you in donating; then, you can hold one another accountable and on track. - Reward yourself
When you give, you also receive: Each time you donate with Carter BloodCare, you earn points to redeem for Dedicated Donor Rewards. These rewards include e-gift cards to major retailers, T-shirts, drink tumblers and more. Also, donor appreciation gifts are available at the time of donation.
