Carthage and Marshall MASH Bash blood drive heats up to help East Texas patients
WHO/WHAT
The 2024 Carter BloodCare MASH Bash blood drive is a Carthage vs. Marshall competition to replenish
the community blood supply for East Texas patients.
WHEN/WHERE IN CARTHAGE
11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 9: Texas Country Music Hall of Fame – 310 W. Panola St. (map)
WHEN/WHERE IN MARSHALL
11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, and Wednesday, July 10: Warehouse 208 – 208 E. Burleson St. (map)
WHY
Summer is difficult for the local blood supply, as student donors are on break, families go on vacations, and Texas weather swelters and storms.
All blood types are currently needed, especially O positive and O negative, which are at or near critical levels. Critical status indicates there is less than a day’s supply of the blood type to fulfill hospital needs for their transfusion patients. In some cases, without the required blood, surgeries and medical treatments could be postponed.
Blood donors help children who are fighting cancer, people hurt in serious car wrecks, organ transplant recipients and mothers having difficult deliveries.
THANKS TO MASH BASH SPONSORS
Carter BloodCare sincerely thanks the local sponsors who make the 2024 MASH Bash possible.
