Which lucky blood donor will drive away with free Chevy?
Carter BloodCare hosts high school pep rally to reveal winner, Classic Chevrolet Fleet and Commercial hands over keys
WHO: Carter BloodCare and Classic Chevrolet Fleet and Commercial will announce the blood donor who was randomly selected to win a 2021 Chevrolet Spark, from among all donors who gave blood with Carter BloodCare from Nov. 22, 2021 through Jan. 7, 2022.
Classic Fleet stepped up as part of the solution for the chronic blood shortage amidst the ongoing pandemic, donating the car to boost donations during one of the most difficult times of year for the community blood supply. Donors were automatically entered in the drawing when they presented to give during the designated timeframe.
WHAT: A pep rally to reveal the winner of the New Chevy Spark will happen onsite, outdoors, on the grounds of Covington Independent School District. In addition to celebrating the blood donor who receives the car, the event recognizes students’ and faculty members’ involvement in giving blood to save lives everyday.
WHY: Carter BloodCare and blood programs nationwide report dangerous declines in blood collections brought on by COVID-19, a decrease of donations and donors in the hundreds of thousands compared with 2019 and pre-pandemic 2020.
