Give For Texans – Kelly’s Story
Starting at a very young age, Kelly Bernard has felt firsthand what it’s like to live with a condition that relies on our community’s blood supply.
Kelly was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Disease when she was a baby, and at age four, she had a stroke that left her with a permanent limp in her left leg. Since then, Kelly has been on a blood transfusion regimen. Thanks to regular blood donors, these transfusions make leading a healthy, pain-free and inspiring life possible.
