National Blood Donor Month
Resolve to Donate Blood in 2022
With the start of a new year comes the opportunity to make a positive and lifesaving difference in 2022.
January is National Blood Donor Month, a time dedicated to honoring the generosity, selflessness and community involvement of volunteer blood donors, as well as encouraging new donors to join the mission to save lives.
Donating blood to help others is a resolution that’s easy to keep. It takes less than an hour to donate whole blood. Since whole blood can be donated every 56 days, that’s only one hour out of 1,344 hours. It’s time well-spent in saving lives throughout our Lone Star communities.
As Dr. Elba Garcia, a consistent Carter BloodCare donor, said, “A lot of people want to leave this world better than we found it. Donating blood is a way to do that.”
Another Carter BloodCare donor, military veteran Thomas Guerrero, said, “It’s important to give blood because you’re saving lives and you’re helping other people. You may not know who it is, but someone out there is very thankful for you.”
Fellow Carter BloodCare donor Ruben Escobedo said, “When we have the gift of blood and are able to give it, it is such a great gift to anyone.”
Your dedication to saving lives is also rewarding on another level. Each time you donate with Carter BloodCare, you earn points to redeem for Dedicated Donor Rewards, which can include gift cards from Amazon, Lowe’s, Starbucks and Target; T-shirts; drink tumblers; and more.
